Service Description

Before you spend serious time or money developing a product idea, we help you find out if it's worth pursuing. Redtail Innovations offers engineering trade studies structured written assessments that look at your idea from multiple angles and give you a clear, honest picture of what you're working with. A trade study is not a full engineering design. It is a focused review that answers the questions you need answered early: Can this actually be built? Who would buy it and what would they pay? How would it be made, and what would drive the cost? What are the risks, and are there other products already doing this? We offer three tiers depending on how deep you need to go: The Basic tier ($350) is a quick gut-check for early stage ideas — a 1 to 2 page summary covering feasibility, basic market fit, and key risks. The Moderate tier ($550) is a full study covering feasibility, preliminary market research, producibility, cost drivers, competitor review, and risks, delivered as a 3 to 5 page report. The Detailed tier ($750) is a comprehensive assessment suited for complex ideas, investor conversations, or decisions between multiple concepts — delivered as a 6 to 10 page report with a full breakdown and clear recommendation. Every trade study is delivered as a written document you can keep, share, or reference throughout your development process. Market research included is preliminary and is not a replacement for patent searches or legal due diligence. Scope and timeline are confirmed at kickoff. Ready to find out if your idea has legs? Reach out to get started. Here is how it works: once you purchase a trade study, we schedule a 30 minute kickoff call to learn about your idea, align on scope, and make sure we are focused on what matters most to you. From there, our team gets to work on the assessment. When it is complete, we walk you through the findings in a 30 minute to 1 hour review session, answer your questions, and then send over the final written report for you to keep.
